So, I'm interested in learning a bit more about theosophy, as I have only a basic knowledge. Any recommendations for good starters with maybe a little intermediate thrown in?

Hello, Ouroboros.

The material recommended to me I gladly recommend to you!

The authors to initially look for are Annie Besant, Charles Leadbeater and Arthur E. Powell. The later wrote books that summarize the works of the former, as especially Besant had an enormous output. Annie Besant was also the head of the Theosophic Society (I guess TS Adyar), so she was enormously influential back then.

Annie Besant: "Man and His Bodies" (http://www.anandgholap.net/Man_And_His_Bodies-AB.htm)
Arthur E. Powell: The Astral Body - And other Astral Phenomena (http://hpb.narod.ru/AstralBodyByPowell-A.htm)

In general you can find an enormous wealth of material in this online library: http://www.austheos.org.au/clibrary/bindex-0.html.

When reading Powell I usually skip the bits that try to be too "scientific" when describing the planes or the things like "the outpouring of the first Logos" as I personally did not find them useful. There's a lot of material contained still.

Good reading,
Oliver
