Hey all.

Well.... This afternoon when I was really bored I tried to do a WILD
by putting my hands above my head and then lowered them when I
thought that was all I could relax. I felt waves of paralysis over my
body each time getting more intense. Then I tried doing some muscle
twitching and that made my arm go dead. I did it to every part of my body.
Then I did some pausing in my sleep breathing. Then I focused on keeping
my eyes still. My neck started to get sore and I thought to my self come
on just a few more minutes. Then I started to go into REM and I struggled to
keep my eyes closed so I opened them to see if I had done it but I did a reality
check and I hadn't :( What should I do during REM?? And after that?

Cheers,
Timm

Keep relaxing. The techniques for WILDing are the same as for phasing, just meditate until you have hypnagogics. REM shouldn't open your eyes, so just keep noticing. One way to keep focus on noticing and off your body sensations (which is essential for phasing) is to start to focus on whatever you see in front of your eyes- be it blobs, pinkness, or blackness, and to split this awareness with listening at your earhiss. This should keep you busy long enough to fall into a trance state in which you start to see hypnagogics, which should resolve into a vision screen. After that, it's a question of focusing on a screen and melting into it. If by chance instead of hypnagogics you get 3-D blackness (that is, you feel you are suddenly floating in nothingness, you are having a 'void' experience. If you do, find a way to enjoy it, and just observe. Most often you will see pinpoints of light, focus on one and you will find yourself in an astral landscape.
