(which was a modern human species that evolved through a completely different lineage, and ultimately killed off by us regular humans).

G'day,

All I can say here is that the human energy body and its chakras, and the kundalini, are incredibly sophisticated. These would have taken billions of years to evolve. I do not think they evolved in the short time humans have existed. So some kind of genetic engineering or sharing with more advanced races is possible.
