View Full Version : Difficulties with splitting awareness (NEW)

Hi.
For some reason even after a month practicing the program i find it is still a bit difficult to split my awareness naturally when sponging/bouncing both feet and legs or both hands.
For example when i go up from the feet to the upper part of the legs i feel that the energy movements between the legs are not quite in sync
That is the movement in one leg maybe slower or faster then the other leg or when the movement is up in one leg is up, the movement in the other leg is down.

I found that bodily sensations are more acute if i alternate between the legs for example: up one leg, down one leg, up second leg, down second leg and repeat.
Does anybody have any observation regarding the above or other splitting awareness tips?

This is fairly common- it happens to most of us. Do what feels good for you and don't worry if it ends up alternating.

I see no problem with this as long as it is effective for you. If that's the natural way it wants to work, I'd say utilize it.

I personally have found that such "mirror" energy movements worked better for some exercises (specifically, in the MAP program).


edit: In fact I found my notes about this from my most recent runthrough of the program.


When splitting awareness for sweeping actions, I found it easier to sweep using mirrored directions [...] easier to manage than sweeping both the same direction simultaneously.
