View Full Version : Seeing the HOLOGRAPHIC UNIVERSE

I DO REALISE THIS IS MORE THAN LIKELY THE WROMG AREA TO POST THIS TOPIC, BUT I AM UNABLE TO POST A TOPIC IN THE PRIVATE 'PHYSICS' AREA.

For those familiar with the holographic universe theory - please read.

For as long as I know, I have been able to see concentric grain patterns overlaid or within what I am viewing/seeing. These concentric grain patterns can be seen in anything. They are however easier to see within monotonous scenes or objects such as the road.

Seeing these patterns last for about 3 seconds a time, before I blink (quite like viewing an aura). I will see these patters about 5 times a day. Its always when I just stare in space and look beyond.

I am just posting this because I have asked around, doctors, eye specialist, neurologists etc though not even an attempt at an answer.

So does anyone out there have any clues or experiences?

This one has me stuck.

THANKS :) :) :)

I see such things, but thats because I have HPPD. Other people I know can see such things if they set their mind to it - it seems a lot of information is naturally filtered out of our conscious picture of the world. But with effort, we can override the filters, or change their boundaries.
I think concentric patterns can be attibuted the the Rod/Cone distribution of the retina, the peripheral vision being more involved in seeing movement and we naturally see in a very tunnel vision fashion.
If you stare at a light blank surface, you'll start to see circles of shadows move from the periphery and seem to contract at the centre of vision. Or if you lie in bed in the dark, you can see retinal discharge, which can take the form of concetric clouds of colour which start at the periphery and move to the centre of vision.

I used to think this was something in the eyes, but for me, it's not. In meditation, the "starry fog" gets thicker, and eventually even has blobs of density moving and swirling around. What I used to think were "eye floaters", I found were actually spirits present. It wouldn't make sense for eye floaters to seem to have sentience, or to glow in different colors according to feelings I got for them, or to seem to prefer hanging out around me when I'm listening to spiritually attuned audio.

The truth is, that you don't have to be in a "deep" esoteric trance to perceive spiritual things. While this helps to "part the veil" between the conscious and subconscious mind, one can also simply be open to the experience of perception. Yesterday when I was playing piano in a dimly lit room, I looked in the mirror and saw something slowly manifesting next to my shoulder. It looked like a glowing hand, or something, and it was so real I turned around because I doubted it was really there, and it thus faded out of view. But I still felt the presence and saw tiny orbs zooming about every now and then. When I stopped being afraid, or over-awed with them, it became a more normal experience to see them.

Hi kenobi. I can relate exactly to what you're talking about. I don't even have to be in a trance state or anything like that to see what you're seeing. I just look with my normal eyes. It's like there another "layer" or reality between you and what's really there. This "layer" has a life of it's own, and you can see all sorts of stuff in it. It's easiest to see in dark or dimly lit locations, but can be seen in broad daylight (although it takes a little playing around with to figure out how to do it). I've always seen it, even as a child. When I was a kid and was supposed to be asleep, but couldn't fall asleep, I would just stare into the darkness and watch the show that was taking place before me. Sometimes, I would even close my eyes and still watch the show taking place. BTW, as far as I know, there's nothing wrong with my eyes or my vision (other than me being nearsighted). I also can see the "floaters" that many people mention, but this "layer" of reality is totally different from the floaters.

Don't get me wrong. I’m not saying all visual phenomena seen with the eyes have a natural cause. I just think a lot of it has, and to mistake natural occurrences with something more is to be wandering up a blind alley.
People seem more then happy to disregard the ability of the mind to drink order from seeming randomness, and to find patterns where there really is none. For example, many people notice the effect of blood cells travelling through the myriad vessels of the retina. These show as sparkling dots, some look bright, or even coloured.
Arguments that these are more than blood vessels usually come across as they move in specific ways, they don't move randomly, or even they change colours.
Firstly, there are probably several million of these cells in the visual field at any one time, but we only notice a fraction, perhaps based upon their direction, or even a pattern the mind creates, and so notices cells which meet that criteria are seen.
This would give the perception of these cells/lights moving in certain directions, perhaps even being directed by us, as our intent to change their direction would make us notices those which match this criteria.
Secondly, stare at anything for long enough, and the depletion of rods and cells starts doing strange things. We see colours, things imprint more immediately, and we even see moving coloured lights.
For example, taking LSD will generally bring on a ‘pixilation’ of the visual field and produce moving lights. It’s as though even looking at something for an instant produces the effect of staring at something unwaveringly for 5 minutes when baseline.
If one starts noticing these phenomena, it takes them less to see them in the future. It seems actively seeking out certain stimulus changes our perceptual filters over time.
So these moving lights etc could possibly be more pronounced and contain coloured elements over time. (This has happened to me – and the opposite when I actively sought to ignore these things, and their presence reduced over months).
They might appear sentient because the thing noticing the patterns is sentient (us) :).

I have read that people discount cone/rod depletion as the reason for seeing after images, due to them being able to see them instantly now (I see them instantly), whereas it took up to 20 seconds before. I think this is once again the changing of filters over time, forcing the brain to notice things usually ignored by conscious awareness, until we can see such things instantly.

Edit: Floaters are dead cells in the eyes, the lights are bloodcells traveling across the retina - they can look like a wind of particles flowing around.

Edit: Regarding the sparkly mist (cone/rod discharge) becoming more pronounced in trance could be explained by the nature of trance. Trance by definition is the reduction of external stimuli, which magnifies the internal processes. So as other sensory perceptions diminish, the mind latches on to those which remain (the sparkly lights). And as we near sleep states, hypongogic processes can be added to this effect to create some interesting results.
