This is one of the most common dream scenarios along with "oh my god, I am naked in public!". There are many different interpretations, many psychological regarding lacking in self-esteem or similar, some say it's an actual indication of that you need to take care of your dental health, indicating incoming cash and fortune and then there are several spiritual ones. I just had a teeth dream too, I found a little native american artwork-looking cup with all my childhood teeth in it, and when I wanted to pick it up, I spilled it all over the floor, and when I then tried to pick them up from the floor and put them into the cup, I instead put them in my mouth for some reason.

I know I've read about this somewhere before, but I forget what it might imply.

I had a very vivid dream where my teeth feel out, one by one. It felt very real.

Does it mean I should see a dentist?

Maybe you're going through menapause? Just kidding...

I've had that dream before too. :) The most common interpretations say it represents a sense of loss of power or control.

Something I found on this :

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

How did you feel when you found your teeth were falling out? What do teeth symbolize to you? Personally, it's hard for me to buy into generalized interpretations of dream symbols, as the experience is so personal and not everyone views symbols in dreams the same way.

[EDIT: I'm an idiot]

I just realized it's illegal / against forum rules to copy an entire text, and what I did in the previous post was to copy paste in the first missing part of faerylight's above post, since I too found the site faerylight was taking the text from. I apologize for this. If you want, I can PM you the link with the article in it's whole.

Peace

I identify most with the 'not being heard' interpretation. I like how it gives several different types.

Alex I have had these dreams throughout my life... I have always associated them with anxiety / periods of stress in my life. Teeth as representative of something permanent / irreplaceable, falling out. Also because dentists like inflicting such guilt :D maybe it represents a feeling of lack of responsibility in some respect. As I dealt with the anxiety, the teeth dreams lessened.
also I was apparently grinding my teeth at night and wore away one of my teeth, so it's possible the subconscious mind takes that jaw pain and interprets it into dreaming.
best wishes to you, I hope it is not stress.

my liver is very busy it spends most of the day cleaning out the waste i put into it. my enzyme level is a little on the bad side according to my doctor. but anyway how is your liver. Do you subject it to alcohol on the weekends or are you clean living. I bet my reply i posted would have been considered to be funny, to bad you "accidently" deleted it. Anyway keep up the good job moderating. peace.

it's funny, yesterday i read this post and already last night i had a dream where i was looking at myself in the mirror and my gums began to bleed, eventually my whole jaw fell out. It was so real that the first thing i did the next morning was checked my jaw.
