View Full Version : How close am I to astral projecting?

I have recently become interested in astral projection. After hearing that meditation is a good way to induce it, I started meditating every day. Today, during meditation, I started to lose the feeling of my body and felt an intense warping pressure. It was as if I was floating around in a void with gravity pulling me in every direction. How close is this to the stage where I can exit my body? Should I wait for vibrations before I attempt to exit?

Any stage where you don't feel your body (or rather, you feel yourself as a consciousness in itself) is a good place to start- however, if, upon starting an exit technique, your physical body moves, that means you're not in a deep enough trance. In the beginning you should feel completely dissociated from your body before starting an exit technique.
There are many other symptoms of being in the right state, you can find them in the thread entitled "your first conscious projection", and it's stickied in many of the OBE subforums.

Vibrations are a sign that your soul is in the process of leaving your body. This is probably the best time to attempt to exit. Visualize your soul leaving your body during this stage
