how to clear genital chakra

I posted this in the ask Robert Bruce section before I knew he had a book on Energy Work, so maybe someone can tell me if it's covered in that book. In Astral Dynamics he warns to basically not stimulate the genital chakra - please correct me if I'm wrong. How would one best go about clearing the genital chakra if it were blocked due to some childhood trauma?

Start by working the areas behind around (in my case it's far enough from the 'happy' places) the tailbone, and move energy all the way up to the second chakra. This does not directly stimulate the genitals but provides energy movement around it, helping mobilize energy up past it. Another workaround is going from the feet (the inside of the arches) up the inside of the legs all the way to the groin, and then moving up past it towards the upper section of the belly area (below the navel). This should give you some base work without the distracting side effects of working too close to the genitals.
