It seems that I have developed a rather unfortunate reflex during meditation. When I start to get the falling sensation or get to that cool point where all the sounds get a little wonky I kind of jerk back out of it. Sometimes it feels like when you hear a loud sound unexpectadly.

Im not sure if this is my subconscious attempt to keep from actually falling asleep or some strange aversion I have developed somehow.

As for falling asleep, it seems both the mental chatter Ramos up and the tendency to fall asleep happens at about the same time the hypnagogic imagery starts.

Everything I have read indicates most of this is normal and only continual practice will sort it out.

Practice will sort it out. But also mental conditioning will help. Imagine the moment and then react in the way you want to in your imagination this will teach your unconsciousness to react right. Also affirmations to I will stay in meditation in every situation will help
