Phenomenon (http://www.fulltv.tv/movies/phenomenon-1996.html) - George Malley is an affable mechanic who is in love with a woman attractive newcomer to the city. On his birthday, after leaving a bar, George observed a light in the sky and immediately suffers a blackout. The next day found that his intelligence was developed abnormally and decides to use it to do good. The whole planet is intrigued by what happened, especially the government, which hopes to use his knowledge in other fields.

I loved John Travolta's movie.
One that went almost unnoticed was 'Tomorrowland'. It was an unfortunate title, because it smacked of Disney self-promotion, but the movie was excellent and had a great- and IMO accurate-message.

I like all his movies but the "Phenomenon" is my favorite :))
