This is about my Astral Travel experiences. I am describing what I experienced in a completely objective way and as I "observed" it and offer no interpretation of what happened in any way.
A few months ago I started to have vivid lucid dreams. The dreams I was having basically went like this;
I would find myself asleep but also awake. The awake part of me could feel my body, and I could wiggle my fingers on one hand, or move my lips. The asleep part would be wondering around in a dark place and then I would fall down a deep crevice. The falling was slow motion and when I hit the bottom I was no longer dreaming and I felt I was awake, but I couldn’t move. I would lay there trying to move for a while and found it strange that I couldn’t. Then a dark shadowy image would approach me, and I would get very scared, and actually physically yell out for help and try to move, the shadow would get closer and closer until I finally scared myself, and awaken by rocking my body, screaming. I had to rock my body because I was paralyzed.
This lucid dream took place 4 or 5 times over the month. I told a friend about it, and they said that I was on the verge of Astral Traveling and an out of body experience. I laughed this off to myself, because I just don’t believe in that kind of stuff. I am a very scientific and logical thinking person. I never have any worries or fears of anything spiritual because I think this stuff is just people with vivid imaginations. I paid no further attention to that conversation and didn’t even privilege it with a second thought.
One week later something interesting happened. When sleeping that night I suddenly found myself sitting amongst people at a dinner table, they all seemed familiar. There was roast chicken and other things like a meat loaf. There was about 10 other people at the table. They were all serving themselves at the table and I was sitting watching. Or so I thought. I slowly started to drift left and then suddenly realised that I wasn’t sitting, I was floating. I started to float around the table and between the people while they were helping themselves to the food. Then I drifted backward out of the room, not just backward, but through walls. As I went through a wall it met with a slow resistance similar to stretching an elastic band and then releasing it.
Then I started to move through buildings and then back to my body, then straight back out of my body and back into the scenario, around the people in the rooms, then back to my body. Then I saw a dark shadowy figure, and become half conscious and lying back in bed. I was drifting in and out of consciousness. About four times I had to grab the bedside table with my right hand because it was the only arm that could move. I did this because my body kept lifting up off the bed, with my legs floating up first, up toward the ceiling, I had to pull myself back down to the bed. When I finally managed to hold myself down in bed long enough, and while I was moving in and out of consciousness I found that I was staring at my notebook which is on my bed side table. The screen kept turning into a window that I could see through, and then back to a screen. I finally broke out of the body paralysis, and sat up. Needless to say this freaked me out a bit.
Being a person of a scientific and logical nature, I assured myself that fear is bred from a lack of knowledge. This did not stop me being quite scared however, so for the next whole week I made sure I fell asleep with a movie on or some kind of activity going on in the back ground. The thing that freaked me out the most was the dark shadows and that something was always approaching me when I fell asleep, and while I was unable to move. Over the next week, I kept re affirming to myself that it was safe, and the shadows will not harm me. Everything has been fine after that, and I paid no more attention to it.
Last night in bed I left and returned to my body 6 times.
Each trip was just amazing. With each trip I learned a little more, learned better out of body navigation. The first few trips were like flying around drunk. I learned better ways to leave the body, and took notice of some other stuff as well.
The experience of the first trip went like this;
I felt myself separate and float above myself, but I couldn’t see myself below, I didn’t seem to see anything visually, It was just a feeling of floating at this point. I looked up and could see dark three dimensional pyramid like triangles moving slowly, or more like a mirror shattering after a rock is thrown through it, then moving apart showing some kind of space or portal, as this was happening my body started to feel like it was glowing with heat, a real excited but comfortable buzz and vibration. When I first separated from my body, and the warm fuzzy vibrations started, I knew I was ready to take off, I wanted to take off straight away, because I didn’t want to experience the ghostly dark shadows that I felt. I found that the trick was to look up at the portal, wait for the buzz, then take off, so I looked up at the portal and said to myself "lets go". The portal didn’t seem light or dark, just an area or level that seemed like it had to be broken through.
After my third trip, I got good at getting through this portal zone, and there was no more fear, just pure excitement of taking off. Then I took off through the hole or cloud and started moving away very fast. The world was dark at first for a good part of the first trip. Interestingly, the moment I realised it was dark and wished it to be light, it became daylight. I was flying cumbersomely over cities and towns. Every time I landed or tried to land, it freaked me out. This made me return back to my body initially. In no time at all though, it would start over, and I would go through the body separation process again, and take off again, and I would fine tune the process.
It was about my third trip that I looked at my hands. This blew my mind away, my fingers were really long and like flames, and at times it seemed like I had up to seven fingers per hand. If I looked at them for more that two or three seconds they would also blur out and it looked like my fingers were missing. While doing this, and because I was looking down toward a planet, I tried a little experiment, I pushed my hands out toward the landscape below. The landscape rippled, like dropping a pebble in a pond, when I touched it. It seemed like the image of the earth kilometers below was actually within hands reach. I thought this was amazing, and amusing, so did this several times and had a bit of playful fun with it.
On the second last trip I tried a few times to leave the earths atmosphere but I just kept bouncing back to below it, looking down to the landscape. On the last trip I landed in a town or city and met two people in a public area. It was daytime and people were eating and drinking and socialising. I was so excited about my newly found experiences, that I wanted to take the two people I met on a flying trip to show them. I grabbed both of them one by each hand and said “are you ready?” I tried to take off but completely lost my ability to fly. I tried several times to take off with them and then without them but just couldnt fly anymore. Then found myself back in my body, in bed and awake. I would like to also mention that every person I met from the first time I started experiencing all of my lucid dreams and travels, seemed familiar, as if I knew them.
So as I lie in my awakened state, wondering what the hell just happened, my feet and ankles felt like two warm and tingly large balloons. It was such a soothing feeling that I just lay there for about 15 minutes just enjoying the warm tingly balloon like feeling that my feet were experiencing. I felt so good just lying there. I eventually rolled over, turned on my notebook to watch an episode of Seinfeld. Then I went to sleep.
I Had another OOBE the other night. It was a fairly gloomy and uncomfortable experience. Just after the body separation process, which involved the usual body vibrations, I attempted to look up and take off. But my Astral self was very clumsy and instead of taking of, kept falling down deep crevice, that did eventually lead to the sky. I could not get much higher above the tree lines though, my flying control was bad, and I kept rolling to my back whilst flying, and it also wasn’t long before I was back and hovering around my room in the dark gloomy areas.
I tried to lift my hands to look at them, as I have done on recent OOBEs but they were paralised in my Astral self as well. So I had to look down to my left to see my left hand and it looked fairly normal in proportion, but looked like I had about 12 fingers on it. Back in my room, while I was hovering beside my sleeping self,a couple of people sitting in front of me showed me their hands, and they were the same. I wanted to see if I could get the rippling effect by putting my hands out in front, but my body was just paralised and cumbersome.
I also saw 2 other entities, that I wasn't too sure about, I felt a bit of concern. One of them which was a transparent young girl, kept popping up from below into my peripheral vision and reaching out to me, which I found really annoying, so I tried to kick her. It was at this time that I found my limbs were reacting opposite, for example, If I kicked my left leg, my right one would move on my Astral self, or that's how it seemed.
Anyway I ended up kicking the bed post quite hard, which woke me up, and that was the end of the experience for the night. On a personal note, I hate hanging around the vicinity of my room, and like to take off as quickly as possible, but it just wasn’t going to happen last night.
