after research in hospitals in Holland they now unfortunately discovered that my sister has a disease called "retinitis pigmentosa" http://www.blindness.org/index.php?option=com_content&id=50&Itemid=67

she has it in both eyes, but at the moment she is only experiencing sightloss in one eye were she lost 45% of sight. she is 36 years old.

is there anything anybody knows of alternative healthcare that might be able to do something against this disease? (in conventional medical science they have no cure, or medicine to delay the proces of blindness)

thanks in advance,

greets Bram

Is this related to how the body processes iron? For some reason this came to my mind as I read your title.

Although I usually don't advocate the use of 'one' thing for something, and since there is no known 'medical' cure, I'd recommend

turmeric. And if inflammation is the issue, perhaps she can also add quercetin to her diet.

Yes, I second CFTs advice, Curcumin is generally good for a lot of things. Please bear in mind to consume curcumin/turmeric with black pepper because of the better bioavailability / absorption in the intestines.

High Vitamin A supplementations are sometimes given for eye diseases, also for RP.

Eye acupuncture is done by alternative practicioners for RP, at least in Europe, it is of course not directly applied to the eyes but often on the forehead or other points in the body. Most mention the method according to "Prof Dr John Boel", maybe you could check this out.
