lighting flash?

I had just gone to bed, and started doing some brow chakra work, when my whole body jumped, there was a static electricity sound and for a fraction of a second it was like I was in a lightning flash - white lightning through closed eyelids. Anybody experience this and if so what did you make of it?

Yes, it's a third eye strobe. Sometimes there is the snapping sound of it too. Science calls it "exploding head syndrome", and although it's something that is not problematic and happens to many people, they pathologize it anyway.
If it doesn't cause any problems (like headaches or vision loss) it's nothing to worry about, but ease off on the brow center work for a while if it does.

I've experienced it, both strobing and as the flash like someone just took your photo. It is said to be associated with pineal/third eye activation.

You know, CF, my son thought he'd experienced EHS because he was woken by an almighty explosion that had him fly out of bed to check the hallways of Uni Lodge. No one else reacted to it and so he decided it wasn't real. He did an internet search and found EHS, which he decided was the explanation. Then he mentioned it to a friend who had heard it too and had pretty much concluded he was hallucinating. They never worked out what it was.

I've had it happen a few times. I think that's one of those things that happens to everybody (like hypnagogics) but not often, and you have to be in the right state to fully appreciate :jawdrop: it.
