What is a Ward and how does it work ? *2nd quest. Unanswered

I was doing a little reading, and came across the term ward, something I had heard of before but only from a video game :) Where a ward was a large animal that did stuff for a character... I was kinda looking for a more detailed, practical explanation of what it is, how you make one etc.

Also if anyone can answer this... what is the difference between self-hypnosis to make some changes to the subconscious mind and opening the 6th and 7th chakra in order to do the same ?

A Ward is a protective device- any object that can be 'programmed' for protection via blessing, intention, ritual, etc. that can then be put on a strategic location of the house or the body.
In caribbean spanish it would be called 'resguardo'
notice the similarity of the word guard=ward.
