Looking to start a group of Bardonian Hermetic Practicioners

I have read Bardon's books, Clark's ABC, and others.. I decided to start this thread on this site because of its open-mindedness and loving, supportive attitudes. Also, because I think Robert Bruce has something very unique to offer. I am at heart a classic christian hermetic in the vein of Bardon, Steiner, PF Case, Mistelle, and Eckartshausen.

The reason I decided to attempt to start a study and practice group is because I always start out strong then quickly fade to watching hours of TV instead of practicing or studying. I am hoping that the group can help keep me motivated at least through the first III Steps or so.

I have had bardon's books for over five years and I am ready to make the jump. I look forward to your support and to working with you all.

I am keen in any case. There are peers online on Franz Bardon Forum and on a few Hermetic Yahoo groups and some at diverse other sites too. Perhaps some posting at other sites could draw interested kindred spirits to your group.

Currently, some Hermetic aspirants meet casually on Skype for Hermetic discussions and mystic projections. Blaze, Pawel, Tom, Cloak and lonewolf are some that come to mind.

Rawn Clark leads a casual group online for a small donation which meets on Skype. This group has Hermetic discussions and meets if Rawn is available once a week which is 3am Monday morning sadly in Perth time. ouch!

In the past ,I participated with two groups whom met and progressed through the 10 Step Path of the Magician outlined in IIH , over TeamSpeak. And I enjoyed the fellowship of a another group of 12 magicians who worked through IIH in a local circle here in Perth, Australia.

Each time IIH is read and worked through much more is understood and attained.

Robert Bruce suggested that IIH should be read in its entirety first and then it should be worked through one step at a time. I agree with that approach. Bruce also advocated Rawn Clark's companion text too.

I am online about 6-9 am Perth Australia time , +8 GMT/UT . I leave Skype open to chat , offer readings , research or sit circle with peers.

If Guitarguy 68 or another, has a set time in mind or a set venue ie speech software, please post definitive time and place and let us begin. I am most interested in Hermetic peers.

Question: Could it make sense to ONLY read this companion instead of the referred IIRC by Bardon? Would I draw enough out of it then already? I am first just interested in reading up on the stuff a bit and wonder if I do enough (for starters) by reading on the exercises in the companion instead the original work, moreover since it is said that Bardon is a difficult read (okay, I admit I could also read it in German, but I don't know if it is really easier then).

I don't think Bardon is complicated to read besides his use of obscure, outdated-seeming German at times. I've been told that all English editions are deficient to differing degrees in rendering what he said, but this judgement came from an extremely devout student of the matter who was very exact.

My impression was that Clark really stretched things in interpreting the text, at least for a few bits where I compared to help out with interpreting for a friend a bit myself. This was years ago when there was no print edition, but back then all of Clark's stuff was freely available on his website and no need to buy anything.

Not to give the impression that I studied this, it was not my cup of tea and I did not pursue it.

Imho;
I read the IIH in its entirely
II read and practice one step at a time in IIH, moving onto the next step when you have completed most of the skillset listed at the end of each step.
III When you come to a stumbling block perhaps in Step 7 for example, then open Rawn Clark's companion text to Step 7 and see if you get helps or a new perspective.

Or, alternatively, read the entire companion text after you read all of IIH and then begin the practical pathworking. When you do the practice in a particular step read that text In IIH and then read the companion text for that step, too if there are any stumbling blocks. If on the other hand you feel confident that you have already attained that skillset , skip the companion.

IIH is superior to the companion which in no way replaces it.

Andrew from Hungary shared a guided meditation on Psychic Surgery he learnt at a Hermetic Course in Hungary and another guided meditation on Healing Past Traumas through revisiting until it no longer causes emotional or physical pain

Blaze from the USA set up a TeamSpeak server and chaired discussion regarding convenient times and he shared his understanding of Robert Bruce's NEW methods and how these inspired him and made him change from a skeptic to a believer in magick.

Dancing with Crows from USA discussed an invocation of Shiva that went differently than planned

Jules from Ireland discussed her clairvoyant visions and visits with the Cosmic Christ

Pawel from London lead us to Shambalah through an ashram he manifested and through its qlippothic tunnels and sephirothic stairways to other realms and teachers

Peter from Greece shared a Taoist method of the Microcosmic Orbit drawing up specific element colours of energy

Serge from London took us on a guided light working meditation of St. Germain

I would say start with Initiation into Hermetics- it's done for Hermetics what MAP was for AP- a step by step guide to development. Then, either get or download (you can get a free pdf copy of) A Bardon's companion by Rawn Clark- he expands on Bardon's instructions and explains some more, something I like. Then, there will be other books that offer knowledge, and that's when you supplement the reading. If you're a veteran in metaphysics and understand it pretty well, the Kybalion is a good one, because it expands on the Emerald Tablets (I like their interpretation on it and recommend it highly.) There are other works but are a little more challenging, so I think you'd be set with Bardon and Clark. At least for the first few steps, the first one especially is long and involved, but worth the time you spend on it.

Hi Group,

I've just read the first few pages of the book and realize the Principle element Air, whose fundemental attributes are warmth and moisture.
The planets without air have no warm or moisture. Its light at sunrise and dark at sunset (Fire and Water), Hot or cold, (Fire and Water), realitively. Without the moderation of the recipricol of Fire and Water, the Air, there is no fundemental attribute attributed with that element!

Are we , as a group, our own teachers?
However, I do have questions as I go along. I am slowly reading the Initiation book; and now, as told rereading the tutorial.
Some questions have explained themselves. After I digest the tutorial again, I may have answered more of my questions.

Bardon says we are all our own teachers, in his specific system. I do think that it is helpful to ask questions and have them answered by anyone who has done the step and 'mastered' it.
I am happy to answer any question leading up to Step Six, which is where I am. We also have the Hermetics forum to ask more advanced practitioners for help, including Aunt Clair, who can be found both at RoE and the Bardon forum I linked to from one of the threads in this theme.

I also believe that at some point Clark said not to read him instead of Bardon- what he wrote were commentaries and help with the works, and they're meant to be studied in a certain order. So I think, no, read Bardon in whichever language suits you, and then read Clark. I personally like his insights, although don't always agree with everything he wrote.
I was lucky to have read all the material I could when it was all for free, and there is enough online to supplement.

ps. I also like to read what Aunt Clair has to say about the steps also- reading her (IMO) takes a little pressure off when it seems you're stuck or are unhappy with what you're getting. IMHO.

Its been awhile since I wrote. Still reading and practicing.
I believe the Elements are either a being or represented by a being. Maybe its a symboligy thing.
I clearly saw the Fire Element as a being who looked like, but was not GOD. (of course I don't know what GOD looks like except in pictures) I guess it must be a symbolic thing.

I believe that if you can reduce all of creation to forces, that's what the Elements are. Elementary forces are represented by beings (and every element has a representative archetype) but I wouldn't call it a 'being', since everything is contained and contains the elements.
The reason why God is sometimes represented as the Sun (http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap130426.html) and seen as 'light', may be because we depend on our Sun for the type of life (biological) that exists on earth, at least visible. Without the sun we simply would not exist, everything in the world reacts to the sun and the moon (as in the stations, the day/night cyclical character of life itself), and the sun is the biggest and strongest being in the sky. So it makes sense to see God as the Sun (http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap130426.html).

Anyone on this site (Aunt Clair maybe?) or on the FB site that you may have come across that has claimed to have reached this level using the air element or electromagnetic fluid. Granted that is far down the line in the book (Step 10 if I'm not mistaken), my curiosity wants to know.

I have not read at all the book you refer to, but I have done one exercise for years ago....to make a windmill (a small one) to turn with your own force....and also turning off my chakras when using those one you search for water veins....or currucross....those are turning around when aming them against the charas but when you tens your body you turn off that force.....so I do not know what is said in the book, but I have played with these since I was a Child....But never levitated anything...not that I have put that much time into it for the first.....
