Dear Sir...

In Part 2 of your Treatise on Astral Projection, you wrote:

"Etheric matter is the actual life force substance generated by all living things by simply being alive. It is a substance in-between physical matter and astral matter, part physical and part astral. This etheric matter has actual weight. It is a very refined substance in between matter and energy and is similar to its coarser cousin, ectoplasm.

There have been scientific studies done on this phenomena. Dying people in hospitals have had their beds placed on delicate scales shortly before death and hooked up to EEG and ECG monitors. In all cases, at the exact moment of death, a sudden weight loss of approximately one quarter of an ounce is observed. This is caused by a large amount of etheric matter being transferred into the astral body at the moment of physical death. This is similar to the sudden transfer of etheric matter into the astral body during a near death experience where the body believes it is dying. This sudden, massive transfer of etheric matter is the start of the death process."

About the real nature of this link between astral and physical, have another studies been done, besides the physical properties of weight, in order to get the measure and quality of any other properties it may have?

(CFT, of course, you're allowed to syntax and grammar corrections)

Thank you very much...
Ángel

The studies I speak of were done a long time ago, including the phenomenon of 'materialization mediumship' in the early 19th century.

Names that come to mind are 'Michael Bentine' and 'Sir Author Conan Doyle (researchers) and Estel Roberts, and Helen Duncan (famous materialization mediums). At least some laboratory study was done on 'ectoplasm', which is the substance produced by materialization mediums. But of course no one believes the results of such testing today, and materialization mediums are extremely rare in the modern world. The only modern group working with (producing) ectoplasm is the Schole group of England....I think they still exist.

You have to see and touch ectoplasm to really believe what is happening. And yes, I have done this many times.

The other studies, by Dr. Duncan Macdougall, and a French scientist soon after, are widely disbelieved. As far as I know they have never been repeated because this subject is highly controversial. Macdougall gave up his research in this area because of pressure to stop him by both scientists and religious persons.
