I certainly couldn't be the judge of such a thing... a particle that imparts mass to every other particle? Well, that would be the God particle and do you really think we could find and define it? When we can, wouldn't we be Gods ourselves?

But of course we are. But would the Higgs-Boson be proof of it? In the advancement of physical theory it would be unparalleled, but in the advancement of a soul????? It only deepens the mystery. We then would have to ask, "What does the boson depend upon"? When we look for answers we must consider that questions preceed them. So what preceeds the question? That is the most, the ultimate we can seek to know (gno).

Will the boson satisfy that? I hardly think so. :(

Hahaha! Yes, but it is in cleaning up the mess we start to find answers. Forget the Higgs-Boson, think about your own magical ability to impart mass to all you encounter, perceive and contemplate.

That is uber-groovy, Mick.
I looked up how to make a photon into a photon shower, and only 'sort-of' understood it. Can you explain it if possible?

I had a look for more information and have not found a clear picture of what is being done. It is not clear to me whether a single photon is being amplified such that the avalanche of photons are all coherent in some manner or it is simply a light intensifying system that indicates that a photon has been observed. Did find this PDF which may be describing the technique, I say may as it loses me on some of the details.
I did see mentions of photon fibre amplification in other google searches so may be related/
