i dreamed a had Owls nesting right outside my bedroom window.
One adult, which was doing some remarkable flying stunts, seemingly showing off for me, and one young owl, sitting in the nest. :D
they were strange looking owls tho, more like animated characters than any real owl i ever saw.
they were definitely aware of me, and unafraid.

This brought to mind The Fourth Kind. The "owls" that the abductees saw at their windows...

That was taken ('borrowed'? Hint hint) from Whitley Strieber's work. I'm not sure how familiar you are with his books, but he had what he called 'screen memories' to mask what really happened, which is the abduction. So even though the movie (Fourth Kind) was made up, it was taken most possibly from this. I don't remember (because it has been so long) but when Mr. Strieber came out of the 'abductee closet', so to speak, he got many letters with people talking about similar screen memories. What I don't remember is if they involved owls or some other scenario that didn't make sense in the context it was remembered.

Since it's been so long since I read the books, I did a little searching, and I found this:
http://www.unknowncountry.com/insight/f ... periencers (http://www.unknowncountry.com/insight/friends-fellow-ufo-experiencers)

And in here, (http://www.unknowncountry.com/diary/not-going-movie-about-ufos) Anne Strieber makes the comment about the movie.

owl is big medicine, unless of course an owl calls your name. 'who' are you? who who who who

but i like this synopsis of 'Owl' from The Tao of Pooh - Benjamin Hoff. Pooh representing one of the basic principles of Taoism - P'U, the Uncarved Block.

"Owl instead, is the opposite of Pooh, the Knowledge for the sake of Appearing Wise, the one who studies Knowledge for the sake of Knowledge, and who keeps what he learns to himself or to his own small group, rather than working for the enlightenment of others. That way, the scholars can appear Superior, and will not likely be suspected of Not Knowing Something. After all, from the scholarly point of view, it's practically a crime not to know everything. But sometimes the knowledge of the scholar is a bit hard to understand because it doesn't seem to match up with our own experience of things. Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?" B.H.
