Felt compelled to share. This technique works for me and might help others.
Before doing any meditation, spirit communication or any type of spiritual practice or Reiki treatments, I find it helpful to perform a clearing. Space clearings are a vital component to our work and what is cool is that the more you do, the better you get at it, the stronger your intention becomes.
The book by James Gilliland "Becoming Gods" offers a very helpful outline for this.
First, it is important that you command that you become sovereign in your energy. This means to command the immediate return of 100% of your information, your chi, your bodies (emotional, mental, etheric, creative, intuitive, astral and any other bodies that belong to you). Command the immediate departure of all bodies that do not belong to you. Sometimes in our day to day transactions we can lose our sovereignty and "fall apart". Also, others will shed their emotional bodies when they are distressed and sometimes we can pick these bodies up (seems to be a lot of emotional bodies being shed on places like Facebook and other social sites). It's important to be sure you are 100% present, grounded and sovereign before doing any work.
"Close you aura by visualizing a white or gold light around you.
Call upon your chosen cultural representative of God - be it Jesus, Buddha, Baba Ji, Mary, Mohammed, White Eagle or another one of the Beautiful Many Christed Ones.
Tell the entitites they are healed and forgiven, lifted and enlightened.
Tell them they are filled and surrounded with the Christ Light and Christ Love
Ask your chosen representative to take them to their perfect place.
Ask that all negative thought forms and limiting mental concepts be dissolved and lifted in the light of truth.
Ask that all psychic bonds be severed, and close thier auras to all but spirit of the highest vibration.
Repeat this process until you and your space feels clear. Remember, your word is very powerful and what is spoken on their level manifests instantly. Many enlightened ones use this process before opening. It creates a clear and safe environment, and it also lifts the one who is doing the healing. Intent is nine tenths of the law. If you intend to serve and heal, you will draw to you entities of like mind. If you intend to coerce and manipulate, again, you will draw entitis of like mind.
At times, discarnate spirits will come to your light like a moth ot a flame. Do not judge yourself; simply heal them. They are the ones in trouble, not you. They are seeking your help."
When you connect with an Ascended Master, they will help you a lot with your clearings. It's awkward at first and we are unsure of ourselves. They help fill in the gaps for us until we become stronger and stronger at this. It takes practice. If you do a clearing once a day or once every couple days, pretty soon, you will begin to notice that your word is becoming stronger and you will see evidence of your efforts.
For Reiki practitioners, a clearing can be empowered by invoking the reiki symbols - distance is particularly helpful in these clearings.
Again, the intent is not to be fearful or fight fire with fire, the intent is to offer healing in love and help these beings reach their perfect place.
Once you and your space are clear, you can begin your work!
