About the 'etheric limb' question you asked Robert-
In my opinion, the same mechanism that you get when you have an OBE that is, you gather information with your etheric body and then dowload it to your physical and experience it in your body (or rather, as body, such as hearing, seeing and feeling), that is, with the same mechanism that your etheric body interfaces with your physical body.
Now if you are so inclined, I'd recommend you read Yamabushi's meissner-antimeissner field theory of OBE in the science section (I think that's where it is) in which he postulates a scientific mechanism in which this could be so.
Anyway, I found it fascinating, maybe you would also.
