When climbing the rope or ladder for 20 min, only the first is interesting as that is the part when leaving the body and the room. Then I climb through a hole in the roof and go up and up watching the roof get smaller and such. I think that takes about 1 minute, then I'm in the clouds. Even faster when I'm doing a 'Google-earth-zoom-out-visualisation'
I'm wondering what to do with the remaining 19 minutes. :?
I tried going back and forth, doing the first bit a number of times. I tried doing all the rope/ladder techniques one after the other.

I don't understand the question- you don't have to keep doing the rope method if it already got you out- the whole reason for using the method is to make it trigger the projection reflex. Once you're out you just fly away.
Unless you're saying that you are using a visualization of going up a rope- if this is it, then that's not what you're supposed to do- you're supposed to feel a rope and pull on it with your etheric arms, and keep doing it until you feel yourself going up and actually feel as if you're coming up and out of your body. Once you're out, you just either fly away or float away.

ahum. Eh. yeah, I am doing this as a visualisation (in the first person perspective). I did not get out by will just yet. So I have been doing this wrong?!
When I do this visualisation I do feel some pressure, so it is doing something.
I guess I need to be deeper in trance or something, before doing the exit technic. If so, what should I be looking for in trance to know I'm ready for exit technic? Or should I just continu the exercises? If so, what do I do instead of the exit technic?

Before the exit tech, try to do energy body loosening- you will find techs in the OBE Research and Discussions thead (stickied) if you don't know any. Also, do a bit of observation ( look at the blackness in front of your eyes and see if you see or hear anything.) If you get visuals you can then start the exit technique.

In the book it says 'imagine' with all the rope and ladder techs.
page 236 "imagine a large, strong rope.." "imagine you have an extra set of arms and hands..."

In the book, and in other materials he explains how 'tactile visualization' or 'imagination' is different from visualization.
Here is an example of it:
In his treatise, under 'Getting the Feel for ROPE'
he writes: " You do NOT have to actually visualize, or see, the ROPE at any time, just know where it is supposed to be. This method uses NO visualization at all.
Reaching out and pulling on this invisible, imaginary ROPE with your imaginary HANDS shifts the bodily awareness induced point of consciousness, out of the body, with a strong natural action that puts direct pressure on one point of the astral body."
In a previous part of this same page, he explains that rope is not a visualization, it is a direct application of pressure on your etheric body (my paraphrase).
Here are some excerpts:
"What most people do to project is to either exert forward, passive pressure on the astral body, by visualizing"..."All the above, and the general lack of information about the mechanics of projection, i.e., HOW it happens, accounts for the extremely high failure rate amongst people learning to project."
http://www.astraldynamics.com/home/astr ... -rope.html (http://www.astraldynamics.com/home/astral-projection-training/treatise-on-astral-projection/65-part-5-using-rope.html)
Another way of explaining this (mine), is that you're not visualizing what it would be to climb a rope- if you have ever climbed a rope in your life, you need to remember how it feels to do it, how your body feels as it's going up, make it a remembered action, don't visualize it.
If you don't remember how it feels, get a rope, and climb it with your eyes closed. Do one or two pulls with your eyes closed, and now you know how it feels, and recreate this feeling when you do the exercise.

Ah. My bad use of words (not native english speaker).
I have been imagening, not visualizing. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Thanks for your help, I realy appreciate it.
